- Some people are 100% Irish or 100% Italian – I’m 100% Pennsylvanian. Here’s proof: 1. I grew up in the rural town of New Tripoli, PA. After nearly 10 years of city-living in Hazleton, Harrisburg and Allentown (all in PA), I found my way back to New Tripoli. 2. My two crazy cats (whom I consider my kids) were born in Pennsylvania; same goes for my parents. 3. I’m a fourth generation Penn State graduate, therefore, I bleed blue and white and JoePa is one of my heroes. 4. I’m the directory of interactive marketing for the Lehigh Valley’s tourism bureau, but don’t worry, I’m a writer first, a marketer second. 5. I could drink Kutztown Birch Beer every day of the year. I also enjoy eating Tastykakes, faschnauts and Hot Tamales candy. 6. I LOVE to read and shoot pool (I know, neither has anything to do with PA, but I just wanted to throw them in there).
