- I was born in a hospital that stands a mere two blocks from the bay that is the edge of Lake Erie. Though I have lived elsewhere, moved away as an adult, this Lake draws me back. The longer I live here, the more I realize what a privilege it is to be so rooted, so connected to this place. I love all of Pennsylvania. I have lived in Philadelphia, twice. I have lived in State College, twice. And yet, there is something distinctly special about living on one of the largest sources of fresh water in the world. Erie is a small sized city, but it is filled with amenities of both the natural and human-made varieties. Come see why, at one point in our history, the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Massachusetts all laid claim to this small triangle of land.
