Everybody Out

By: Amanda Reynolds March 23rd, 2009

True, it was snowing here on the first day of spring, but that didn’t stop me.  Buds were blooming.  Temperatures were rising and I just had to be outside to soak it all in!  I decided to go for a run at one of my favorite places in Pittsburgh, Schenley Park.

Now, I went running but there’s not much you can’t do on the 456 acres of woods, trails, and recreation areas.  I also like to pick up a game of soccer or tennis at the Schenley Oval, and feed the ducks at the reflecting pool.  Sometimes I soak up the sun on Flagstaff Hill with an inspiring view of downtown. One thing the park does have is plenty of hills.  That makes some of the bike trails a bit more challenging and the walking trails more invigorating.  Around every turn is a great new view: the Panther Hollow Bridge, the reflecting pool, Serpentine Drive, or another wanderer enjoying being outside.  See you on the trail!
